Laptop Bag for Her!

The 'custom order'  lap top bag is now finished and ready to go to its new owner. These are available from my Etsy store and they come with a complementary brooch in the matching colour of the flap on the bag.

This bag has been really popular and has received a lot of complements. It  is so versatile, since for the flap of the bag I use different materials, (wool, cotton, linen, satin...). On top of that, it is a very durable bag and adds really nice chunky detail to your outfit. 

Personal bag made using the giant knit and crochet technique!

This bag features the front and back side in a giant knit that has a couple of crocheted roses sticking out in between giant stitches. Each side of the bag, front and back, is made with giant knit and lined with black satin that keeps the knitting in place. The bag flap features three layers of fabric in three colors. The main part of the flap is in black soft suede and, just to add interest, there are two strips of linen in green and beige.

This bag is very strong with a strap that is crocheted in one piece. This is a large bag.

Bag & matching brooch

Here it is; each one of my bags comes with a matching brooch! The brooch is a very versatile accessory; it can be used to secure the scarf, as an addition to a top or a jacket and I am thinking it can also be used as a hair accessory. 

Fabric crocheted bag - shades of sand

My latest addition to the Sunchi B range of personal bags! This bag is very strong and very elegant at the same time. It is crocheted using suiting fabric and just to add interest, for the flap of the bag I used satin in a very light beige color.

This is a very secure bag! It has a floating button loop which comes in the same colour as the main body of the bag, making it seem invisible. The loop is nicely secured under the flap, so that when closed, it is not putting any pressure on the satin flap. 

As you can see from bellow, the loop sits nicely around the button.

This bag has a matching fabric button to add to the handmade, unique look- 'the latest addition to my range of bags'.

Crochet Laptop Bag for 16 inch screen - New Design

This is my latest design in Laptop bags. Colour combination is dark gray / black / mustard. This is a very durable bag that is made to last. This bag used 3 meters of suiting fabric that is first cut into strips and then combined with strands of wool and is then crocheted with a chunky crochet hook. This is a carrying bag that is very strong.  

There are two straps on this bag; one is the strap to carry the bag on your shoulder and the second one is the hand strap, for you to carry the bag in your hand for convenience. The later one is also acting as a security lock on the bag, keeping the laptop safely in the bag.

There is something new that I learned in making this bag and that is: how to dress up the button in the fabric so that you can have a perfect fit in colour and pattern for your design. I got this little gadget from Spotlight and I absolutely love it!!! How lucky are we really to have all these things available to us... it is just so me to thank the inventor of this little thingy - I just so appreciate little things like that!

The bag is a perfect fit for a 16 inch laptop!

Back to work... accessorize with style

Well, most of you would have seen my personal bags by now! They are really designed to be useful, unique and possibly as a conversation piece accessory to match your own personal sense of style. So this year, 2012 is going to be all about targeting the several basic colours and developing a 'Sunchi B' range of personal bags as well as laptop bags for the creative modern business woman... more information coming up soon....

This bag came about as a matching accessory to a skirt from the gorgeous 'Thyme 4 T' fashion house that I recently received as a birthday present.

Dark gray and mustard - new crocheted bag

Inspired by the dark gray and mustard colour that is currently in almost every magazine, I wanted to try make a bag that would reflect this beautiful colour combo. This bag is 28cm x 28 cm!

This time I experimented with different materials. For the main part, ie the body of the bag, I used 'shantung suiting tobaco' which is a little bit thinner than ponti. The 2 meters of fabric make one bag, but when working with this material the bag comes a little bit smaller. The gorgeous mustard colour comes in very fine linen which goes wonderful as contrast to the dark gray. Because it is a smaller bag, I decided to use one button only.

Light Summer Bag - Finished

My summer bag is now finished and when I look at it, it reminds me of spring. As soon as I started playing with the light gray fabric of which this bag is made, I knew that it needed to look fun, light and summery. Initially I was going to use the main fabric in combination with 'English grass' green, but on my last trip to Spotlight I have discovered this wonderful flowery fabric that I knew would work wonders on this bag as a lining.

Below is the back of the bag. The button hook is crocheted out of silk and matches the lining fabric of light and dark purple roses. Just to add some more interest, I secured several flowers in between the over sized stitches.

Here comes the bag with a strong strap

The very first entry on my blog was the laptop prototype bag. This bag received many great comments but one thing that needed improvement was the strap. So here it is, a brand new bag from 'Sunchi B' that is smaller than the laptop bag and because of this I am calling it a personal bag. This bag as well as the strap is crocheted with black and gray striped winter ponti material and the flap with which the bag closes is made with 'bouvardia' european yarn (70% acrylic, 30% wool). This bag is extremely durable as the strap supports the whole length of the bag.

Of course, we can always add a matching scarf...

I first made a strap for the bag, which I secured by joining the ends of the strap. The sides of the bag are then crocheted from the strap up, which gives it support. The sides are then joined using multiple strands of several yarns, which adds a bit of colour and character.
