'Warm Chocolate' super chunky winter scarf

I am loving this super chunky knit. It takes a while to get used to knitting on the large needles but with a bit of practice it becomes super easy. This 'WARM CHOCOLATE' super chunky scarf is the second shade in my winter range and is done in one colour only. 

This is just a sneak preview of what it looks like. I am using PATONS wool, it is a very good quality mix that always looks good and is very warm around you neck.

Giant Knit Scarf - Belgrade in Winter

Month of May, autumn in Perth, means cooler mornings and cooler nights. Light jumper and a chunky wool knitted scarf always does trick for me. They keep us warm, but they are also very easy to take off and can make such a wonderful wardrobe statement. This is my latest design in winter scarfs, knitted on super chunky needles with a super soft and chunky wool.

Whilst knitting this scarf, the whole time I have been thinking of my home country and Belgrade in winter, a city very dear to me, so this scarf will carry this memory in its name - 'Belgrade in Winter'

Personal bag made using the giant knit and crochet technique!

This bag features the front and back side in a giant knit that has a couple of crocheted roses sticking out in between giant stitches. Each side of the bag, front and back, is made with giant knit and lined with black satin that keeps the knitting in place. The bag flap features three layers of fabric in three colors. The main part of the flap is in black soft suede and, just to add interest, there are two strips of linen in green and beige.

This bag is very strong with a strap that is crocheted in one piece. This is a large bag.

Getting used to the 'Giant Knit'!

I love 'Giant Knit'... you need to hold the yarn quite loose so that your knitting needles can flow from one stitch to the other. Trudi Pollard, a recognised WA artist, mentioned recently that when she does stitching, she calls it 'dolphining' - because of the way the needle goes up and down. She may have just added a new word to the English dictionary! When I do the giant knit, it reminds me of exactly that, the ocean, and gliding on the waves... like a form of meditation....
